PENGARUH TEMBAGA KLORIDA (CuCl2) TERHADAP INDEKS MITOSIS DAN ABERASI KROMOSOM PADA AKAR KACANG BABI (Vicia faba L.)

Abstract


The effect of copper chloride (CuCl2) on mitotic index and chromosomal aberration on broad bean roots (Vicia faba L.) was carried out. Seeds were treated with 0 ppm (control), 10 ppm, 20 ppm, 50 ppm, and 100 ppm of copper chloride for 24 hour. This research used experimental method with completely randomized design. Parameters were mitotic index, frequency and the types of chromosomal aberration. The data was analyzed by using ANOVA and continued with Duncan Multiple Range test. The results showed that the maximum mitotic index (23,92%) occured in control (0 ppm), and the minimum occured in 100 ppm (9,54%). The maximum chromosomal aberration occured in 100 ppm (4,51%), while the minimum (0,45%) occured in control. Several types of chromosomal aberration were: abnormal prophase, damaged nucleus, budding, c-metaphase, d-metaphase, micronucleus, chromosomal stickiness, abnormal anaphase, abnormal telophase, lagging chromosome, fragment chromosome, bridge chromosome, and disturbed polarity.
