HYDROGEL UNTUK RECCURENT APHTHOUS STOMATITIS

Abstract


Recurrent Aphthous Stomatitis merupakan penyakit ulseratif mukosa mulut yang belum diketahui dengan pasti penyebabnya hingga saat ini, sehingga pengobatan yang diberikan hanya untuk mengurangi rasa sakit dan memperkecil ukuran ulkus. Formulasi yang dimodifikasi memberikan cara yang cukup efektif untuk mengatasi cepat atau tidaknya obat larut atau terbawa oleh cairan mukosa mulut sehingga dapat memperpanjang kontak obat dengan ulkus. Dalam pembuatan sediaan lepas terkendali, polimer memiliki peran penting. Ada  banyak polimer yang dapat digunakan untuk kontrol pelepasan obat dan membutuhkan pertimbangan fisiologis dan fisikokimia. Polimer dapat digunakan sebagai hidrogel film yang dirancang untuk memisahkan lesi mukosa dari lingkungan rongga mulut, dan dengan demikian mengurangi resiko terbawanya obat oleh air liur dari pengobatan lokal yang diberikan. Aplikasi ini dapat meningkatkan durasi kontak antara zat aktif dan lesi sehingga meningkatkan efektivitas terapi, mengurangi ketidaknyamanan  pasien dan membawa obat  lebih cepat dari pada gel. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk melihat berbagai macam polimer yang dapat digunakan dalam sediaan hidrogel untuk pengobatan RAS
