Preservasi Pengetahuan Masyarakat Minangkabau tentang Tradisi Pasambahan melalui Kegiatan Exchange of Indigenous Knowledge

This research is aimed to analyze and examine the social issues of the preservation of Pasambahan tradition through the activities exchange of indigenous knowledge surrounding the society of Koto Salayan Kurai Limo Jorong, Bukittinggi City. This research is based on the background of the society in Koto Salayan that showed consistency preserving of Pasambahan even thought it had already been abandoned by apart of community in Minangkabau society. A method used in this research is qualitative method with case study approach. The data were gathered by doing observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The result of this research showed that the exchange of indigenous knowledge activities carried out some aspects include: (1) identifying and recognizing the tradition of Pasambahan conducted through observation of cultural activities, functions, and topics in traditional ceremonies; (2) the validation of knowledge about Pasambahan acquired from its function as a tool of communication in discussion and reliability toward Malapeh Marapulai ceremony; (3) the knowledge recorded and documented by individuals and institutions. The output was in several forms: cassette (audio); books (visual), handwritten documents and audio-visual (video); (4) the knowledge of Pasambahan was kept in personal library, LKAAM and districts concerned. The collection was kept in the form of the book; (5) knowledge transfer and exchange was  conducted in a group converted into socialization, internalization, and externalization, (6) dissemination of knowledge about Pasambahan was conducted in inter-village competitions, seminars, workshops and publications on the official website of Bukittinggi.
