Jurnal Kajian Komunikasi, ISSN 2303-2006 (Printed), ISSN 2477-5606 (Online), published by Faculty of Communication Science, Universitas Padjadjaran, incorporated with the Indonesian Communication Scholars Association: Ikatan Sarjana Komunikasi Indonesia (ISKI). Jurnal Kajian Komunikasi publishes twice a year (June and December). In each edition, it receives articles that will be handled by editor. After that, the article is reviewed by at least two reviewers who have related expertise. The article will be reviewed with a double-blind peer review process. Jurnal Kajian Komunikasi will publish the selected papers under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International.

Jurnal Kajian Komunikasi was published, in December 2012, by the Faculty of Communication Science, Universitas Padjadjaran. The first printed edition was published on June 2013. Meanwhile, Jurnal Kajian Komunkasi started using Online Journal System in June 2016. Therefore, our publication from June 2013 to December 2015 was back-issued.
Jurnal Kajian Komunikasi has been accredited as a 2nd Grade Scientific Journal (SINTA 2) by The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of Indonesia (KEMDIKBUD RISTEK RI) based on SK No. 164/E/KPT/2021.
As we grew, we did some alterations in order to make improvements. Author guidelines were revised on June 2016. We also employ a journal template for December 2017 edition with additional title sours on the first page. Moreover, we also revise the focus and scope of the same issue. For June 2023 issue, we will also implement new author guidelines and a journal template.
On Mei 5, 2017, Journal's name on the website header changed from Jurnal Kajian Komunikasi: Communication Studies Journal becoming Jurnal Kajian Komunikasi to adjust the original name data at ISSN Journal submission.
Jurnal Kajian Komunikasi aims to encourage research in communication studies, with particular reference to culture, diversity, living norms and customs, history, philosophy, doctrines, and ideology. Topics addressed within the journal include but are not limited to:
- Political communication employs messages and political actors related to power, government, and policy.
- Business communication is an idea or opinion exchange, information, and instruction among people (personal or non-personal) through various symbols to achieve company goals.
- Health communication discusses communication strategies to distribute health information within a community or society. Health communication aims to persuade individuals or society to make decisions about health activities.
