Abstract


Pendahuluan: Mahkota sementara harus memiliki ketepatan margin yang baik untuk menjaga kesehatan gingiva dan melindungi gigi dari trauma suhu, kimia, fisik, dan bakteri. Pembuatan mahkota sementara yang paling umum digunakan adalah teknik langsung dan tidak langsung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh teknik langsung dan tidak langsung pembuatan mahkota sementara resin akrilik autopolimerisasi terhadap ketepatan margin. Metode: Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimental laboratoris. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah resin akrilik autopolimerisasi. Jumlah seluruh sampel adalah 12 dengan 6 sampel untuk masing-masing kelompok. Seluruh sampel diuji ketepatan marginnya menggunakan stereomikroskop. Hasil: Analisis statistik menggunakan uji t tidak berpasangan menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara teknik langsung dan tidak langsung pembuatan mahkota sementara terhadap ketepatan margin p=0,0001 (p<0,05). Simpulan: Mahkota sementara yang dibuat menggunakan teknik tidak langsung menghasilkan ketepatan margin yang lebih baik daripada teknik langsung.

ABSTRACT

Introduction: Temporary crowns must have good margin accuracy to maintain gingival health and protect teeth from temperature, chemical, physical, and bacterial trauma. The most commonly used temporary crown is the direct and indirect technique. This study was aimed to determine the effect of direct and indirect techniques on the margin accuracy in the fabrication of the auto polymerised acrylic resin temporary crown. Method: This research was an experimental laboratory. The sample in this study was auto polymerised acrylic resin. The total number of samples was 12 with 6 samples for each group. All samples were tested for margin accuracy using stereomicroscopes. Results: Statistical analysis using unpaired t-test showed that there were significant differences between the direct and indirect techniques of temporary crowns fabrication on the margin accuracy p = 0.0001 (p < 0.05). Conclusion: Temporary crowns fabricated with indirect technique produce better margin accuracy than direct technique.
