Samiaji Bintang Nusantara has worked in journalism for almost 15 years before joining the Department of Journalism, Faculty of Communication Science at Multimedia Nusantara University (UMN), Tangerang, Indonesia.
During his career in the media, he has received several awards and fellowships from several institutions and organizations, such as the Mochtar Lubis Award, Ministry of Law and Human Rights, United Nations for Development Program (UNDP), Asian Center for Journalism (ACFJ), and International Center for Journalists (ICFJ). He also led Lembaga Studi Pers dan Pembangunan or Institute for Press and Development Studies (LSPP) in 2013-2019.
