Instructions for Authors

Thank for choosing to send papers. This guide will ensure that all necessary completeness of the manuscript is fulfilled so that we can send it to the Zuriat Journal peer review. Please take the time to read and carefully follow all the writing instructions, and make sure that a draft of the manuscript suits the needs of the journal.

This journal uses a full On-line Submission system. Read the guide for this author before submitting a submission. A complete guide to preparing and submitting a manuscript to our Zuriat journal provides below.

 

About the journal

Zuriat is an Open Access journal, containing either Indonesian or English article, peer review journal, contains original high-quality research results. Please see Goal & Scope's journal for information on its peer-reviewed focus and policies.

Open Access (OA) means the author can publish research to be freely accessible to anyone online as soon as it is published, which means anyone can read (and cite) writing. Please see some explanations about Open Access on some internet sites.

The Zuriat Journal accepts the following types of articles: regular papers; review (review paper); short report.

 

Publishing fee of articles

We recommend that the lead author be a member of the IPERIPI Breeding Science Society of Indonesia (BSSI). All fees must be paid in Rupiah.

 

For BSSI/ PERIPI members

The fee for publishing articles online is charged Rp. 200.000, - and for the print edition is charged Rp. 750.000, -. However, we are preparing full online journal publications so that authors can do their printing if necessary.

 

Peer Review

Zuriat's editorial team is highly committed to the quality of review of every existing manuscript. Once a manuscript has been assessed and by the needs of the journal, it will then be a single-blind peer-review which will be reviewed by an independent reviewer in anonymous areas. Please learn more about what to expect during peer review and read our guide to ethics of publishing.

 

Preparing the manuscript

Line number

 

Include the number of line counters in manuscript by using the facilities in the Microsoft Word program.

The review manuscript should be no more than ten pages.

The regular manuscript should be no more than eight pages long.

The short report should be no more than four pages long.

 

Writing style guide

Please use writing styles consistently in all manuscript.

Please use single quotes, unless "quotes" are in "quotes." Please note that long quotations should be indented without quotation marks.

 

Formats and templates

Manuscript submitted in the form of a file using Word format. Authors must also submit tables and images in separate files. To assist in preparing a paper, we provide the template format. Please save the template to the hard drive, and ready to use. Do not change styles like fonts, spaces or indentations from templates. You simply copy and paste your text to the existing model by following the existing style. The template use flat format with two spaces and nothing hangs.

Please use reference style guides like Mendeley, EndNote or other. Please refer to reference style in the template file

 

Checklist: what to include an online submission

Author details. Include any full name, affiliation/ institution, postal address, phone number and author's email address on the title page. If available, please include ORCID identifiers and social media (Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn). Affiliation/author institution is the institution where the research is conducted. If one of the co-authors moves in during the peer-review process, new workplaces / new institutions may be provided as footnotes. Please note that there are no changes to the affiliation/institution after a manuscript has been accepted for publication.

The abstract is written not using paragraphs and not more than 250 words. The abstract should contain a brief explanation of the importance of research, the purpose of the study, the methods used and the results obtained. There is no reference writing in the abstract.

Keywords (keywords) range from 1 to 7 words. Keywords are meant to make articles easier to find, including information on choosing titles and optimizations in search engines.

Acknowledgments may be included for the research funding agency by including their cooperation contacts.

Picture. Images must be of high quality (1200 dpi for line art, 600 dpi for grayscale and 300 dpi for color, with correct size proportions). Images must be saved as .jpg or .png files. Images should also be sent in separate files.

Table. The table should present the information and not the repetition of words in the text. The reader should be able to interpret the table without reference to the text. Please provide an editable file.

Formulas or Equations. If the author sends a manuscript as a Word document, make sure the formula or equation is editable.

Unit. Please use SI units (non-italicized).

Line number. Please include the line number in the manuscript submitted.

Keywords. Include the name of the plant researched in the keywords in manuscript.

 

The use of third-party materials

The author must obtain the necessary permission to reuse third-party material in the article. If the author wishes to include any material on a copyrighted paper, and which is not covered by this informal agreement, the author must obtain written permission from the copyright owner before use in writing.

 

Sending manuscripts online

Zuriat Journal uses Online Submission of the manuscripts to manage peer-reviewed processes. If the author has not previously submitted a paper to Zuriat journal, the author needs to register as a user or create an account first. The registration guide can be viewed directly on the Zuriat Journal Web. Nasakah sent in Word format.

 

Please note that Zuriat uses Crossref ™ to check for plagiarism. By submitting a paper to Zuriat means author agree to the original checks during the peer-reviewed process and the printing process.

 

Publishing papers online (online first publication)

Zuriat Journal will publish accepted or approved manuscripts, as soon as possible to be published online based on the latest received (but not yet edited) edited a PDF file. There is no editing process on the original manuscript content for this version, however, after editing, archiving, and reviewing the results of the improvement of the manuscript, the final version of the correction (printed version) will be published to replace the first version.

 

This final printed version will appear in the journal edition. Both the first version and the print version can be cited using the same DOI (digital object identifier).

 

Re-print

The author will be sent a link to order a reprint of author’s paper through an account in Zuriat Journal.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is double-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end. If it is essential, the charts and tables can be sent in separate files. Please download the template in author guidelines.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
 

Privacy Statement

Confidentiality

Any data that you write and stored in the database, we will keep confidential and will never be informed, and we will never use for the interests of third parties in any form.

A review of a manuscript takes note of the confidentiality of authors and reviewers. As a condition for reviewers before being willing to review and assess a paper, all reviewers should have agreed to keep the secrecy of the document to be of value including all relevant confidential data. If a reviewer requires peer advice when assessing a manuscript, the reviewer should still be able to ensure the confidentiality of the paper and notify the manager of Zuriat Journal of the colleague's name summarized as the final reviewer's report.


Anonymous

We will not inform reviewer's identity to the author. We do not allow reviewers to disclose their status because of concern they may be asked to comment on criticism from other reviewers about further revisions of the manuscript; We also actively discourage writers from trying to locate reviewer identities or to respond to criticisms or suggestions directly to reviewers.
